Steam has a spooky Halloween sale going on!

Posted: October 30, 2013 in News

It’s almost Halloween and what better way to celebrate than playing some horror games!  Steam is currently holding a Halloween sale until November 1st, so time is of the essence.  With over 150 games to pick from something is sure to strike your curiosity.

Prices have been slashed for several spooky titles such as CondemnedAmnesia The Dark DescentOutlastSlender The Arrival andHome which is making a killing at $0.74!

Other titles of the less spooky variety are also available from the old school The 7th Guest (which recently passed Steam Greenlight), the highly acclaimed Brothers and of Walking Dead fame Telltales new game The Wolf Among Us are all discounted as well.

According to a Reddit thread, a leaked Target flyer features a very interesting deal for November 15th a.k.a. PS4 launch day.  The flyer states if you buy two launch games for the PS4 you get the third one free.  Yes, that is correct, free.

The games listed on the flyer are Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag, Battlefield 4, Fifa 14, Madden 25, NBA 2k14, Killzone: Shadow Fall andKnack.  Additionally, the flyer states “more available in-store”, so it’s probably safe to assume more titles will be eligible that day.

Of course this is all still very speculative until the actual official flyer from Target comes out.  Until then, we can hope right?

Available today for download and exclusively for PlayStation 3 owners is the Redbox app.  As originally reported on PlayStation.Blog, the way this works is for an $8 monthly fee you will have access to thousands of movies to be able to stream from your PS3, but also you will receive four credits a month to use at a Redbox kiosk.  Not only that, but you may alsoreserve those films at a local Redbox kiosk so that you’re assured to get what you want.

You may also purchase movies or rent on demand new releases from the app if you’re not ready to commit to a monthly fee (which can be cancelled whenever you like).  According to the website other devices may also be used to stream movies.

Fancy this service at all?  If so, sign up here.

Coming to North America on November 22nd, (yes, the same date the Xbox One releases) Nintendo will release a gold and black Zelda inspired 3DS XL bundled with a download code for The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds.  This great looking 3DS XL with the Triforce on the front and back panel will retail for $219.99, but if you just want the game, The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds will also be released on the 22nd.

This announcement was made today in a video by Eiji Aonuma, producer of the esteemed franchise.  Previously, this bundle had been pictured floating around on that thing we call the internet by way of leaked GameStop flyers of Black Friday.  Now we have confirmation.

Here is the Eiji Aonuma video:
